The global real estate industry plays an important role in creating an all inclusive, healthy and safe planet to live and we are continuously being tasked to wake up to this call.
In addition, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way the world operates making sustainability increasingly vital to the real estate industry creating an urgent need for strategic transformation in the industry, shifting trends towards environmental, social and governance (ESG) considerations. These trends are expected to have a critical influence on how real estate markets will fare over the coming years, and as such, understanding their impacts in the long term will be vital in planning for the future. Stakeholders have responded to this call and to the growing impact of environmental change, societal pressure and changing regulations and are beginning to find solutions in measuring and reducing ESG related risks that has become key priority.
We have a great opportunity to drive smart cities, reduce energy, and water use and avoid environmental pollution, but this will require collaboration with players globally. This conference will feature over 40 speakers representing leaders from various specialties within the real estate industry worldwide. It will explore the challenges in the real estate industry in Africa including data, new technologies, access to finance, affordable housing, governance and how industry stakeholders can collaborate to bridge the gaps creating a sustainable built world.
